Two interfaces for the Finnish Transparency Register

News

Public data kept in the Finnish Transparency Register is now available in machine-readable format through an open interface. Soon you can report your lobbying activities to the Transparency Register through a separate interface.

The open interface of the Transparency Register has been added to the avoindata.fi service. The details contained in the registrations, deregistrations and disclosures of activities published in the Transparency Register are available through the interface in JSON format. In addition, the interface provides information on disclosure periods, reporting periods and lobbying targets.

The interface enables the creation of queries and reports based on the Transparency Register data and tailored to your own needs. The interface can be used free of charge and you can use the data without restrictions. Remember to give the data source in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 licence.

Read more about the open interface and its terms of use on the Open data page. Remember to familiarise yourself with the terms of use before using the interface.

Reporting on lobbying through the interface

A new interface is under development for the Finnish Transparency Register. With this interface, disclosers can transfer the details of their disclosures of activities directly from their own systems to the Transparency Register. This means that you do not need to enter the subjects of the lobbying or lobbying consultancy individually through the Transparency Register service portal. The interface is particularly well-suited for organisations with a large number of subjects to report.

To use the interface, the organisation must have an enterprise resource planning system or other similar tool to which the interface can be connected and the technical readiness to introduce the interface in accordance with the instructions.

Our goal, together with the system provider, is to complete the reporting interface in time for the summer 2025 disclosure period, i.e., from July 1 to August 31, 2025. We will provide more information about the timetable and technical implementation as the work progresses.
